Faraja Orphanage is so happy to have new volunteers helping to develop the growth of our orphanage!
Improve other people’s quality of life, meet new people, and immerse in a new culture!
- Choose to be a volunteer you will be able to perform tasks such as:
- Teach in one of our classes (we have four different classes at the moment)
- Provide children with HIV / AIDS prevention education
- Provide first aid/medical help to children
- Perform home visits
- Teaching the children about basic house holdings:
• Cleaning of utensils
• Cooking
• Sweeping
- Bathing the children and wash their clothes
- Play with children
- Help us to create new ideas for the development of Faraja Orphanage

Year round. We always need volunteers at Faraja Orphanage because we run strictly on volunteer work.

- Who can volunteer?
Adults over 18. Faraja Orphanage welcomes the assistance of volunteers and are very happy to have new volunteers in order to development the growth of our orphanage.
- Qualifications
Volunteers with skills and knowledge are welcome, but you don’t need any special qualifications, training or experience to be a volunteer at our orphanage. The only thing you need is a good heart and a desire to help children that is living in poverty.
- Commitment
Being a volunteer at the orphanage is a free job, but under responsibility. Volunteers are welcome to go away on safari and vacation during their volunteering time, but they should then inform the staff. School is between 9 o’clock to 2 o’clock, Monday-Friday, but you can stay as long as you want during the day. You can of course spend your weekend there at the as well, if you wish.
- Volunteer permit
If you are going to work as a volunteer in Tanzania they requires that you have a permit C, which costs around 550 U.S. (up to 3 months validity) before you have to renew it.
- Cost
There is no cost to participate, but volunteers must cover all their own living expenses. We can help you find cheap housing with a host family near the orphanage.
- You can come Directly or through Organizations
If you would like to come directly, please contact us and we would be happy to assist you in finding housing/transporation to the orphanage!
- Certificate
We want the volunteer’s time at Faraja Orphanage to be a memory for life and provide them new experiences and knowledge to bring back home.
All volunteer at Faraja Orphanage will be provided with certificate their last day at our center.
